We went to the vet's again today...
Here is the update:
Chico will be receiving a higher dosage of Furosemide, as of Monday. He still has a cough, which means there is still fluid in his lungs. The higher dosage will hopefully help alleviate this problem a bit more.
The vet couldn't give me a prognosis, though she did mention that dogs can live 4-6 years with this condition. That being said, she also mentioned that his heart murmur is really bad, so we don't really know.
Chico will have to make bi-monthly vet visits, to tweak his meds, until an appropriate dosage is found (this could take months). After the right dosage is found, he will then be required to visit the vet's office every two months, to keep an eye on his condition.
This will be our lives, from now on.
Chico seems in good spirits and doesn't seem to know that much is going on.
